Opening a Non-Resident Account

An account can be opened remotely, provided that the company has an official representative in Russia. If the company does not have one, a one-time personal visit will be required to sign the documents and obtain access to the online banking system.

The document list is standard for non-resident legal entities. It includes the company’s constitutional and registration documents, as well as identification documents for beneficial owners and authorised representatives.

Full package of documents needed:

• Constitutional documents (Charter, Memorandum & Articles of Association).
• Passport of the company director.
• Resolution appointing the company director, if available.
• Notarised power of attorney and passports of authorised representatives, if applicable.
• Documents confirming the director’s authority and information on beneficial owners.
• Most recent financial statements.
• Cover letter describing the company’s business activities.
• Russian Taxpayer Identification Number (INN) certificate. If unavailable, the Bank will assist in obtaining one.

All documents must be submitted in Russian. The documents must be valid and no more than 180 days old, legalised or apostilled, and translated into Russian with notarisation. The Bank may arrange the preparation of translations through its partners.

Upon the receipt of a complete document package in the original language, the process takes up to seven working days on average. The Bank reserves the right to request additional information.

Yes. The possibility of trade finance is considered after the account has been opened. The decision is made by the Bank’s relevant department based on an analysis of the company’s financial indicators. As a rule, confirmation of stable account turnover for at least 12 months, a document package, and a guarantee are required.

The Bank may act as the company’s representative during the account-opening stage, allowing this process to be launched promptly.

An electronic apostille is a modern mechanism for legalising official documents. It can considerably simplify and accelerate procedures for confirming authenticity in cross-border document exchange. Unlike a paper apostille, which requires physical presence, postal dispatch, and lengthy waiting times, the electronic format enables faster document exchange.
